When he wanted to audition for the part of Vusi on Muvhango, he was in his final year at the Tshwane University of Technology, where he was studying Administration Finance. He was initially turned down for the role but was called back two months later after show creator Duma Ndlovu developed the character of Gundo for him.
He started attracting national exposure after being known on Muvhango, being nominated for and receiving a series of “sexiest” titles. He also started working as a DJ under the moniker Nkuli M.
