Apply Now To Have Your Matric Papers Rechecked Or Remarked
If you did not pass your National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams or you are perhaps unhappy with your results, you may apply to have your exam paper re-marked or re-checked.
Matric results are officially out. Are you not happy with your marks? You can still get it re-checked or re-marked if you see any issues.
A re-mark means that your examination will be marked for a second time and a re-check of your scripts is a further check to ensure that all questions are duly marked and that all marks are correctly calculated.
Registration can be done at either the school or district office in the province. All instructions on how to do this can be found on the reverse side of the Statement of Results you received at your school.
The closing date for applications for manual and online applications is 10 March 2024.
Results from these will be released on 13 April.
The fees for re-marking is R120 per subject and R290 for re-checking a subject.
Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is seven days after release of re-mark or re-check results.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your mark will improve by much, however, it is worth a try.
If you feel that you rather want to rewrite the subject completely, you have until 31 March to register to do so. You should visit the district office and complete a form there.
The Matric Class of 2024 produced a pass rate of 76.2% which shows a decline of 5.1% when compared to last year’s pass rate.
The overall pass mark has improved this year, as well as the passes of distinctions, said Motshekga. The Class of 2024 is said to have given the best academic performance in the system.
Of the passes, 36.4% were Bachelors passes, 26% were Diploma passes, 13.7% were Higher Certificate passes and only 0.01% were National Senior Certificate (NSC) passes.
